In the summer of 2003, Doug and I had the pleasure of staying at this resort and immediately fell in love with the open-air living, remoteness, and charm.
I loved the fact that it took a cab, a airplane, another cab, a boat, a mule, and a steep hike to reach our destination on this vacation. It was a reminder that were two of very few people who would ever get to experience this place.
At the time, the resort was run by a small Australian family of three. Being adventurous, they had signed on to manage the hotel for the owners (in L.A.) and raise their child in this remote local during the first year of their child's life. In the process, they had recruited many of their Australian friends to come help out around the resort. They were a fun, friendly and lively bunch.
We snorkeled, kayaked, rode horses, swam in swimming holes, & practiced yoga. Heaven.
