For some time now, I've fantasized about starting up a kids party planning business. I ABSOLUTELY love planning and entertaining the little ones, so why not turn it into a business? Well, my reason is that I can't find a way to do it the way I want and not have it cost a fortune. I know we all love our kids to death, but $1,500 on a two-year-olds party, is totally ridiculous. So instead, I've decided to pass along some of my ideas to you. Today's Party Planning 101, "Favor Bags."
These galvanized buckets can be purchased on-line for around $2.50, and are a cute way to pass out favors at a BBQ, pirate or sailor themed bash.
These adorable hand-made satchels are just big enough for a few trinkets. They would be the perfect take-away for a treasure hunt party, gnome & fairy party, or a tea party! This idea came from my dear friend Leslie, a woman of many traits. Not only does she work for Levi's, sew, make jewelry, make paper art, and knit, she also writes books. You can purchase her knitting book here.
There's a design blog out there called, Hoping For Happy Accidents. I LOVE that name since most of my creations are "happy accidents." For example, my final favor bag idea was a happy accident. I had intended to sew two buttons on each bag with a crazy-8 string closure but I found it way to difficult to sew the second button on half-way down the bag. Then I took a step back and realized they looked way cuter without the second button anyway. Love that.
love all of these, especially the buttons.

Cute ideas! We did little metal buckets last year, but I think I may do the buttons on bags this year. I like the color, and I'm loving buttons right now.
