We'll be hosting a table set for eight this Thanksgiving. My plan is to make the table so overdone with decor that the children notice and decide that the occasion is special enough to use their "princess manners." I know it's a lame name but it seems to do the trick. We always discuss the princess manners before setting foot in a restaurant and it will usually buy us about 45 minutes at the table. Well, that and some crayons, multiple photos snapped of the fork, water glass, food, etc. with my Blackberry, a visit to watch the staff busy in the kitchen, a trip to bathroom once or twice depending on if their soap smells good or if they have those exciting environmentally-friendly Xlerator hand dryers.
To make:
Wrap a bunch of twigs with twine. I loved the look of the moss-covered twigs that scatter our yard.
Hand stamp each name of a gift tag.
Tie name tag onto the twigs.
Get Bijou the Polite as a Princess book...Poppy loves it! : )
