Overnight Tote

Inspired by Jackie's library tote, I made Bijou one of her own, large enough to double as an overnight tote.

To make:

1. Cut 2 - 14" x 14" squares (top fabric)
2. Cut 1- 14"w x 12"l (bottom fabric)
3. Cut 2- 12" pieces of ribbon.  I used this.
4. Stitch one of the top pieces to the bottom piece using a 3/8' seam allowance along the 14" sides, right sides facing each other.
5. Repeat with the other top panel.  Once you are done you will have one large rectangle.
6. Press 1/2"  to the wrong side along one of the sides of the top fabric.  Turn under and press again 1/2".
7. Tuck one edge of one of the handles into this seam you just created 3 inches in from the end of the bag.  Tuck the other end of the handle 3" in from the opposite side.
8. Top stitch creating a top hem for your tote & securing one of the handles.
9. Repeat steps 6-8 on the other side of the top fabric.
10. Fold your bag in half, right sides facing each other and sew 3/8" seam allowance up the two sides of your tote.
11. Using zig-zag scissors trim the side seams.  This will prevent your bag from unraveling at the seams in the wash.
12. Turn right side out and press.
13. I used fabric glue and glued on the little bunny applique (optional).
